president have two more debates scheduled, but first up, later this week will be the vice presidential debate. tara mergener. cbs news. the romney campaign has not released any september fun raising -- fundraising figures. federal investigators were finally able to get five terror suspects extradited to the united states this went. they were being held in the united kingdom. the men are accused of bombings back in 1998. in all 224 people were killed, including a dozen americans. the suspects are also accused of trying to establish a terror training cam nap oregon. sometimes as an nfl quarterback, it is okay to just get out of bounds or even slide. >> or just throw the ball away. that is what the redskins faithful there morning are saying after watching robert griffin 3 get lit up.

abuse charges. he could spend the rest of his life in prison. after he is sentenced, sandusky's first stop will be camp hill state prison. that is where he is going to undergo testing and classification. there are also lawsuits filed by his victims against penn state. they are expected total in the millions of dollars. 9news now will have complete team coverage of the sentencing coming up. police in alexandria are investigating the city's latest murder. 30-year-old marks ides died after some sort of trauma to the body. police found just before 2:00 sunday morning. >> we have to wait to determine cause and manner of death but we know there was trauma to the upper body. we just don't know exactly what caused it or if anything else is involved. at this point in time, the detectives do have a great deal

half point. a power failure at a plant and a pipe line shut down led to supply shortages on the west coast for gas. average price for a gallon of gas in california $4.49. that makes it the highest in the nation. in many parts of the state prices climbed 40 cents a gallon in the last week alone. here in the dc area, this actually feels good in comparison. we are paying $3.73 for gas. and it costs more to get a higher education this year. new data showed tuition and fees at private colleges and universities rose 3.9%. the good news, this year's increase in private college tuition is the smallest on record. still well, well above the pace of inflation and how our earnings are growing. >> how many people you know get a 4% raise in their pay each year? > we are back in two minutes

health providers are rushing to notify parents around the nation they could be at risk for if you think gallon meningitis. >> -g for if you think al -- for if you thinkal -- for meningitis. >> reporter: 18 people with confirmed cases with meningitis are being treated here. >> the whole thing is in a state of flux. >> reporter: the cdc says so far 47 people in seven states tennessee, virginia, maryland, florida, north carolina, indiana and michigan have contracted meningitis. five people have died. the number of cases is expected to grow. >> we see the symptoms beginning somewhere one to four weeks after the injection occurs. the investigation is ongoing. > >> reporter: health officials say 75235 silts in 23 states may have received the tainted

steroids. >> reporter: meningitis is an inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. the symptoms include severe headache, nausea, dizziness and fever. >> early treatment can definitely help. patients who might have been exposed should be vigilant not onset of the symptoms. >> reporter: the new england compounding center supplied the steroids and has recalled 18,000 vials. companies lick the one in massachusetts custom mix medicines that aren't always available. the products have not subject to fda approval. >> a third case of meningitis has been confirmed in our area. maryland health officials say this case is tied to a tainted steroid injection last month. so far the outbreak has left seven people dead, including one
